Testing whether your leather labels are genuine is essential, especially if you prioritize quality and durability in your products. Here are some simple ways to check if your leather labels are made from real, high-grade leather.

  1. The Touch and Flex Test
Real leather feels soft, warm, and slightly textured. When you bend it, natural creases appear, rather than staying perfectly smooth. Artificial leather usually feels cold or overly uniform and doesn’t crease naturally.
  2. The Smell Test
Genuine leather has a distinct, rich, earthy smell, which is hard to imitate. Synthetic materials often smell of chemicals or plastic. This is a quick and reliable way to identify authentic leather labels.
  3. The Pore and Grain Check
Examine the surface closely. Real leather shows natural, uneven pores and slight imperfections, whereas fake leather appears too perfect, with repeated grain patterns.
  4. Water Absorption Test
Place a small drop of water on the leather label. While genuine leather will still absorb a little moisture and darken slightly, this test is not always obvious for factory-finished leather. Labelling factories often use leather with a smooth surface finish to allow for clear printing or hot stamping, which can reduce visible water absorption. However, with real leather, you may still notice a subtle darkening as the water is absorbed, whereas fake leather will let the droplet sit on the surface without soaking in.
  5. Burn Test (With Caution)
If safe and practical, lightly burn a small edge. Authentic leather will smell like burnt hair and not melt. Imitation leather melts and gives off a chemical odour.

When the same design is hot stamped onto genuine leather labels, it may appear slightly different from one piece to another, and even between production batches. This is because leather is a natural, organic material, and its texture varies from hide to hide. These unique characteristics mean each label has its own subtle variations, adding to the authenticity and charm of real leather.

At Genius Leather Labelling Factory, we supply premium, custom leather labels using only genuine leather. Choosing authentic leather adds long-lasting quality, style, and value to garments and accessories. Ensure your brand reflects true craftsmanship with real leather labels.

Fabric Labels for Clothing: A Comprehensive Guide https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/fabric-labels-for-clothing-a-comprehensive-guide/ Tue, 19 Sep 2023 08:59:40 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=4111 Fabric Labels for Clothing: A Comprehensive Guide

Are you in the fashion industry or starting your own clothing brand? If so, you probably understand the importance of fabric labels for clothing. Fabric labels serve a dual purpose: they provide essential information about your garments and also serve as a branding tool. In this article, we’ll delve into the world of fabric labels for clothing, including woven labels and clothing labels, and why they are crucial for your brand’s success.

Woven Labels for Clothing: What Are They?

Woven labels for clothing, also known as clothing labels, are tags or labels attached to garments. They contain vital information about the clothing, such as the fabric composition, care instructions, size, and brand logo. These labels are a tangible representation of your brand’s identity, and they play a pivotal role in customer experience and satisfaction.

The Importance of Fabric Labels

  1. Brand Identity: Fabric labels are an excellent way to reinforce your brand’s identity. They display your logo, company name, or unique design, making your clothing instantly recognizable to customers.
  2. Quality Assurance: Woven labels, in particular, convey a sense of quality and craftsmanship. When customers see a well-designed woven label, they are more likely to perceive your clothing as high-quality.
  3. Compliance: Clothing labels are often legally required to provide information like fabric content, care instructions, and country of origin. Compliance with these regulations is essential to avoid legal issues.
  4. Customer Confidence: When customers can easily find fabric composition and care instructions, they are more likely to make a purchase. Clear and concise information on your labels builds trust with your audience.

Woven Labels: Elevate Your Brand

Woven labels are a premium option for clothing branding. They are made by weaving threads together to create intricate designs, logos, and text. Woven labels have a luxurious look and feel, making them ideal for high-end clothing brands. By using woven labels, you can add an extra touch of sophistication and style to your garments.

Clothing Labels: Beyond the Basics

Clothing labels encompass a wide range of options, including printed labels, heat transfer labels, and more. Printed labels are a cost-effective choice, while heat transfer labels offer a smooth, seamless look on the fabric. Choose the type of label that best aligns with your brand’s aesthetic and budget.

In Conclusion

Custom woven labels for clothing are not just an accessory; they are a crucial element of your brand’s identity and customer satisfaction. By investing in high-quality woven labels or choosing the right type of clothing label, you can enhance your brand’s image and build trust with your customers. Ensure your fabric labels for clothing are not only informative but also aesthetically pleasing to leave a lasting impression.

Incorporating fabric labels for clothing into your branding strategy is a smart move for any fashion brand. Don’t overlook this small but impactful detail when creating your clothing line. It can make all the difference in how your brand is perceived and remembered by your customers.

In summary, fabric labels for clothing, including woven labels and clothing labels, are essential for brand identity, quality assurance, compliance, and customer confidence. Make sure to choose the right type of label that aligns with your brand’s image and budget, and watch your brand stand out in the competitive world of fashion.Fabric Labels for Clothing

Cotton Hang Tags https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/cotton-hang-tags/ Wed, 01 Apr 2020 19:05:20 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=4074 What are the most sustainable natural fibres?

In recent years, more and more people have become committed to living a sustainable life. Customers are more clued in than ever about the effects of their purchasing habits and are more likely to buy from brands that create sustainable products, including clothing. Sustainable fashion is experiencing a boom in the industry at the moment, so here are the most sustainable natural clothing fibres brands love:

Organic and recycled cotton

Cotton is one of the most widely used fabrics in the fashion industry and represents close to 50% of all fabric produced worldwide. Cotton is a breathable, light and natural fibre, making it extremely popular with fashion brands around the world. Organic cotton is an increasingly popular alternative to traditional cotton, as its production process aims to reduce the chemicals and harmful pesticides used to protect not only the planet but the people growing it, too. Recycled cotton is also a great fabric to opt for, as it is made using post-consumer or post-industrial waste. The production of recycled cotton aims to cut down energy and water consumption and reduce the number of clothes that end up in landfill.

Organic hemp

Organic hemp has also increased in popularity recently and is used in industries from cosmetics to construction. As a fabric, hemp only requires a minimal amount of water to grow and does not require pesticides, naturally fertilising the soil around it. Hemp also has the ability to keep you cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather, making it extremely versatile. The best part is, however, that it becomes softer the more you wash it!

Organic linen

Like organic hemp, linen is produced from an extremely versatile crop: the flax plant. Linen also requires a very small amount of pesticides and water and has the ability to grow in poor-quality soil. Every part of the linen plant can be used, and the fabric created is moth-resistant, strong and biodegradable. Not only this, but linen retains moisture without holding bacteria and is lightweight and durable.

Cotton hang tagsCotton Hang Tags

Natural fibres are a great option if you’re developing a sustainable fashion brand. If you’re looking for suitable labels for your garments, why not consider organic cotton hang tags? A cotton hang tag or cotton swing tag from Perfect Labels and Lanyards would be an environmentally friendly and quirky addition to your brand; after all, it’s the details that matter! Browse our collection of organic cotton hang tags today and add flair to your clothing designs.

Sequentially Numbered Clothing Labels https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/sequentially-numbered-clothing-labels/ Wed, 04 Sep 2019 13:29:14 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=3983 Sequentially Numbered Clothing Labels

The ability to trace the route taken by their product, pre or post sale, has always been of importance to the fashion industry. When it comes to reducing the impact of crime and theft, sequentially numbered clothing labels have not only enabled companies to monitor and track their inventory, but also contribute to the creation of a safer and more efficient supply chain. We live in an age when supply procedures can stretch across multiple countries, passing through dozens of ports before products reach their intended destination. Designers and retailers can expect to contend with so many stops and starts before their product makes its way to their shelf, with the added risk that their goods may be lost or waylaid at any point. It is therefore imperative that they have a means to track their orders, and clothing labels with sequential numbers can enable this.

Sequentially numbered labels

Clothing labels sequentially numbered are the perfect feature for a barcode-heavy environment, which is how most fashion is handled. Labels with numbers are printed and designed according to specific sequences, providing an instantly recognisable mark.

Woven labels with serial number

Our service makes use of individually woven labels that can be designed with a multitude of different digits or barcodes, enabling the previously mentioned tracking capacity. In addition, we are currently the only UK label company capable of offering this number-weaving element as a part of our core services. Other label suppliers will avoid orders which include design requirement, however thanks to our custom-designed weaving machine, we do not share this particular limitation, and can produce a woven label with serial number for a relatively low cost and minimum orders of manageable size. If you would like to find out more about our service, please do not hesitate to get in touch by phone or email.

Everything you need to know about small clothing labels https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/everything-you-need-to-know-about-small-clothing-labels/ Mon, 01 Jul 2019 14:24:49 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=3940 Small Clothing Labels
Many brands and manufacturers face a common challenge: how to design a woven label that is compact yet impactful. Small labels offer a subtle and stylish way to brand clothing, making them a popular choice for many. As a result, brands often invest significant effort in finding high-quality, small woven labels. Here, we highlight key considerations for designing an effective small clothing label.

1. Less is more

Brands often choose smaller custom clothing labels when their standard label size is too large for a specific item. In such cases, the smaller label shouldn’t simply replicate the original design but instead feature a unique layout. For example, using just the brand’s initial or a simplified version of the logo can create an effective and distinct design.

2. Stay on brand

When creating a label, it’s essential to align it with your company’s style and branding. For instance, incorporating a colour from your logo into the label design helps establish a cohesive brand identity. Attention to detail is crucial, especially for new or luxury brands, as every aspect of the product—including the label—should reflect and enhance the overall brand image.

3. Don’t compromise on quality

When choosing a small label size, it’s crucial not to compromise on quality. Even compact labels should be clear and precise, ensuring they effectively represent your brand in the best possible way.

Where can I find small, quality labels?

Perfect-Labels-Lanyards is your ultimate destination for all fabric and woven label needs. Thanks to our high-definition weaving technology, we can produce intricate designs and text for woven clothing labels that rival the clarity of printed images. Our expertise allows us to craft high-quality woven labels as small as 1 cm, ensuring clear and legible designs with at least 1.8mm to 2.5mm of space for precise weaving. This attention to detail has left countless clients impressed with our smooth and professional woven results.

Things to consider regarding black and white designer woven labels https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/things-to-consider-regarding-black-and-white-designer-woven-labels/ Tue, 28 May 2019 14:36:02 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=3885 Designer Clothing Labels

Black and white designer clothing labels are a classic and universally chic addition to any sophisticated clothing brand and have been used for years to label the most beautiful designs in fashion houses around the world. They are universally flattering and make personalised labels simple and elegant while creating a successful brand image, as has been demonstrated by the commercial success of luxury brands with similar fabric labels, such as Gucci, Dior and Chanel.

Black on white woven labels

The creation of black and white woven labels, however, is a complicated manufacturing process. The labels are made using a jacquard weaving loom with warp (vertical direction) and weft (horizontal direction) threads. The weft threads are drawn through the warp thread, creating the design of your choice. The Damask High-Definition Woven Label is the label we recommend for luxury brands, as it has the highest density of stitching threads, making the woven logo finer and more detailed.

The label manufacturing process may seem simple, but it is extremely difficult to create a perfect contrast in colour between a black logo and its white background. Due to the fact that the white background colour is woven into the fabric after the black logo, the black thread underneath slightly darkens the appearance of the white thread above. In order to circumvent this issue, the experts at Perfect-Labels-Lanyards use a double layer of white thread to weave on top of the black logo thread to make it more opaque so the logo can stand out more clearly. This improves the contrast of the white background to the black logo but it is impossible to do with perfect results; there will be a slight adjustment to the shade of the white background, resulting in a slight grey shadow.

If woven fabric labels do not produce the colour contrast you require for your brand, it is recommended that you use a printed satin label or printed cotton label as alternatives.

Genuine vs imitation leather labels https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/genuine-vs-imitation-leather-labels/ Wed, 13 Feb 2019 12:39:49 +0000 https://www.perfectlabelslanyards.co.uk/?p=3840 Genuine vs imitation leather labels

As a high-quality custom leather label manufacturer, we have competitive prices, allowing you to add value to luxury brand products using genuine leather, or faux, rubber or PU leather. Genuine leather labels have a soft, textured feel to them, unparalleled by any imitation.

Genuine leather labels

Genuine leather labels are the most luxurious, classy option when it comes to label material choice, but there are other options available for those on a slightly tighter budget.

Faux leather labels

Firstly, we have faux leather, which is very similar in appearance to genuine leather. From a distance it’s almost impossible to tell the two apart, but, under closer inspection, there is a slightly rubbery aesthetic on the front.

Rubber leather labels

Faux leather labels are less expensive than genuine leather, as they’re made from imitation materials, but may still be out of some customers’ price range. That’s why we also sell a rubber leather label, which looks very similar to genuine and faux leather, although the reverse is slightly different.

PU leather labels

As our cheapest option, PU leather labels are for customers with the tightest budgets, but they’re the lowest quality when compared to genuine leather, and look and feel the least like the real thing.

Woven fabric labels

For those of you looking for something low-cost and a little bit different, we can also manufacturer leather-look woven fabric labels. They’re composed of woven fabric instead of genuine or imitation leather, but are designed to take on the appearance of real leather.

Take a look at our beautiful range of leather labels to see the difference for yourself.
